EMBRACE IMPERFECTION – THE SECRET OF “LIVING WITH MISTAKES”

EMBRACE IMPERFECTION

“Overthinking about speaking 'just right' can trip you up, making you more nervous than you need to be”

THE SECRET OF "LIVING WITH MISTAKES"

  1. Why be afraid of being wrong?

    • Reason: When you try to say “every word is correct”, your brain will automatically “freeze” like a phone out of battery. The result? Stuttering, forgetting all the vocabulary!

    • How to handle: Instead of demanding that you be “perfect,” focus on make people understand. 90% listener only cares What did you say, Not where are you wrong!

  2. Practice "tyrannical":

    • Practice "let loose": Set a 1-minute timer and talk about anything (even the neighbor's cat). don't stop even if it's wrong. Wrong is wrong, the important thing is... to say it!

    • Recording: Listen to your voice again, note your weaknesses (but don't blame yourself). For example: “Oh my god, I pronounce 'ship' like 'sheep'! I'll fix that next time!”

    • Turn errors into “profits”: accidentally said “I ate pizza yesterday”? Write it down in your notebook: “Remember: past is 'ate'!”Next time you meet a Westerner, tell this story as a joke!

  3. “Half-laughing, half-crying” situation:

    • Example 1: You intend to show off I have a cat but turned out I have a cat.
→ Beauty: “Oops, I have a cat! Anyway, he's super cute!” (The listener will immediately forget the mistake because… the cat is cute!).

    • Example 2: Pronounce beach wall “fuck”.
→ Beauty x2: Explain in action: “I mean… the place with sand and sea! BEAAAACH!” (With wave-like hand motion).

“It is better to say something wrong than not to say anything at all. Silence is the enemy of fluency!”

Learning English is like learning to ride a bicycle. At first you will fall and get scratches, but keep pedaling then you will be able to balance the long distance. Every time you "turn" wrong, you will remember the way more!

MY QUESTION:
