This exam proves that they can use English in daily life, study and work. Parents can support their children during this important stage to achieve good results.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">PET exam structure<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The PET exam consists of 3 parts, total time is about 2 hours and 30 minutes:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"tight\" dir=\"ltr\" data-tight=\"true\">\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Reading (Reading \u2013 6 parts, 32 questions)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"tight\" dir=\"ltr\" data-tight=\"true\">\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Read and understand articles or emails. For example: Choose the correct answer for the sentence \u201cThe weather is nice today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Writing (Writing \u2013 2 parts)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"tight\" dir=\"ltr\" data-tight=\"true\">\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Write a short email (100 words) or small essay. For example: \u201cWrite an email to a friend about your weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Listening (4 parts, 25 questions)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"tight\" dir=\"ltr\" data-tight=\"true\">\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You will listen to conversations and fill in the information. For example: Listen to \u201cHe lives in London\u201d and write down \u201cLondon\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Speaking (Speaking \u2013 about 12-17 minutes)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"tight\" dir=\"ltr\" data-tight=\"true\">\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You will chat with your fellow contestants and the examiner, answering questions like \u201cWhat do you think about traveling?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Students need to achieve at least 70% to pass.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">How to help your child prepare?<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"tight\" dir=\"ltr\" data-tight=\"true\">\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Advanced Reading and Writing:<\/strong> Parents should encourage their children to practice reading English newspapers and writing paragraphs of 50-100 words.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Active listening:<\/strong> Help your child listen to B1 level podcasts or videos to get used to real language.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Speak clearly:<\/strong> Practice topics like hobbies and travel with your child, teachers or friends.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">PET is a big challenge, but also an opportunity for you to affirm your abilities!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<strong>Contact Chau Thanh English Center to register for the course!<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PET Exam Structure \u2013 Supporting Children to Enhance Their English Communication Skills Introduction to PET PET (Preliminary English Test) is a B1 level exam according to the CEFR framework, for students who have passed KET or have intermediate communication skills.
